Description Project assessment, budget and schedule.

United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hereby invite qualified companies to submit sealed tenders as follows:

The contractor is expected to:

Work with NMEC senior managers and architectural team to develop a new and realistic project schedule and budget, and to:
a. Produce a project schedule listing the key tasks that still need to be completed in all different project areas and the time estimate required for their completion (including architectural, engineering and construction services, fit-out, exhibition design, conservation of objects, storyline development, operational planning, staff recruitment and outsourcing of services, development of museum policies and plans, fundraising, etc)
b. Propose a strategy for the delivery of each project area, taking into account that some services can be acquired locally while others may require international expertise
c. Provide a cost estimate of all tasks to be completed until opening based on benchmarks of projects of a similar nature and scale
d. Provide a typical operating budget for the institution for the first three years of operation based on benchmarks of projects of a similar nature and scale
e. Provide a risk analysis matrix outlining the risks to the project if recommendations referred to under 3.a-d are not taken into account

Qualifying firms must be able to demonstrate permanent presence in Egypt. The team should be composed of project management professionals who are experienced in re-focusing large construction projects in Egypt and have experience in museum development in Egypt.

The team should also include a museum expert with extensive experience in developing museums of a comparable scale in Egypt or elsewhere so as to achieve a suitable combination of skills, experience and knowledge in the Egyptian construction sector and museum development projects integrating ‘hard' construction issues and ‘soft' content development issues.

The team should be able to work in Arabic and English.
