Summary Ideas: Trinity college design competition

Trinity College Bristol is an Anglican theological college in Stoke Bishop, Bristol. They are holding a competition in partnership with the Bristol Housing Festival to find a partner to design new student accommodation as the first phase of their site redevelopment.

Trinity recognise an opportunity to develop a space that will foster good community living, use ecological building methods, and share something of itself with the wider society. In pursuing a broader vision for housing and community-building they will align with the vision of the Archbishop of Canterbury's Commission on Housing, Church and Community with its focus on 'building better communities and homes, not just houses’, also helping to form patterns of living for many younger students going into church and community leadership. Trinity College is looking to work with a partner who can understand the vocation of the college and the impact buildings can have on shaping the future of theological/ministerial training and the formation of a new generation of church leaders.

The competition is an open invitation for innovative ideas for the site that make use of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), are highly sustainable, and meet the needs of the college outlined in the brief.
